Outokumpu Nirosta
The Outokumpu stainless GmbH ( formerly ThyssenKrupp Stainless steel ), headquartered in Krefeld presents her flat products of stainless steel. Stainless steel part of the Finnish Group Outokumpu and was the largest single company of the former steel division of Thyssen Krupp, Inoxum, which was sold to Outokumpu in December 2012.
Production facilities of ThyssenKrupp stainless steel are located in Krefeld, Bochum, Dusseldorf and Dillenburg. At the sites in Krefeld crude steel production takes place. The slabs, which are produced there will be rolled on the hot strip mill in Bochum hot strip. In the cold strip mills Dillenburg, Krefeld and Dusseldorf final production to cold strip is done.
ThyssenKrupp Stainless steel was created in 1995 as the companies Krupp and Thyssen pooled their stainless steel divisions. Within the former Thyssen group the plants in Krefeld and Witten as a company Thyssen steel works ( TEW ) were operated.
