Outriaz
Outriaz is a commune in the French department of Ain, in the Rhône -Alpes.
Geography
Outriaz is located on 710 m above sea level. Level, about 19 kilometers northeast of the city Ambérieu -en- Bugey (air line). The farming village extends in the central Bugey, on an elevated plateau on the eastern edge of the broad valley of Combe du Val in the Jura, at the foot of La Grande Montagne.
The area of 5.91 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the southern French Jura. The western part of the approximately two -mile-wide oriented in north-south direction trough the Combe du Val taken ( to an average of 660 m above sea level. M. ), which forms a syncline the Jura folds. This trough is drained by the Borrey north to Oignin. In Outriaz he receives from the east inflow through the Flon. History
Outriaz belonged in the 14th century the family of Lantenay, which was under the suzerainty of the Counts of Savoy. The Treaty of Lyon reached the village in 1601 to France. 1873 Outriaz was separated from Lantenay and collected for independent community.

The village church was built in 1911.
Population
With 252 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Outriaz one of the small communities of the department of Ain. After the population had decreased in the first half of the 20th century, an increase in population was recorded since the mid-1970s again.
Economy and infrastructure
Outriaz was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by agriculture, especially dairy farming and livestock village. Even today, the inhabitants live on the merits of the activity in the first sector. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in the village.
The village is located off the major thoroughfares. The main access is from Vieu - d'Izenave. Further road links exist with Corcelles and Lantenay. The nearest links to the A40 motorway is located at a distance of about ten kilometers.
