Ovarian ligament

The ligamentum ovarii proprium ( "Ovarian own band ") is a part of the attachment apparatus of the ovaries ( ovaries ). This is a Bauchfellduplikatur that extends from the tubal corner of the uterus to the ovary and is located in the broad ligament of the uterus ( womb broad band). Developmentally, the ligamentum ovarii proprium is the upper part of the lower gonads bands.

The ovaries are located below the fallopian tube and ovary are secured by the ligamentum ovarii proprium and the broad ligament. In this case, the ligamentum ovarii proprium separates the main part of the broad ligament of the uterus, the mesometrium, and lying above the belt suspensory apparatus of the oviduct ( mesosalpinx ).
