Ove Andersson (footballer)

Ove Andersson ( born March 14, 1916 in Malmö, † 12 October 1983 in Borås ) was a Swedish football player. The striker won in 1939 as the first player in the history of Malmö FF Allsvenskan top scorer title.

Career

Andersson began playing football at BK Frigg. About Malmö IS 1935 he came to Malmö FF. With the club he joined in 1936 in the Allsvenskan on. At first he played with the team to stop a descent. In the season 1938/39 he won with the team with nine points behind champions IF Elfsborg third place, to which he contributed 16 goals this season. He crowned himself together with Erik Persson AIK and Yngve Lindgren Örgryte IS top scorer of the Swedish House of Lords. Then he played another season for the club in Allsvenskan, before he could finish his career at Malmö club FK Rapax.

Andersson played a total of 99 games for Malmo FF, scoring 44 goals. In the Allsvenskan he ran for the club in 47 games, scoring 20 goals. Despite his title, he was not taken scorer in the Swedish national team.

After his playing career, Andersson committed as a functionary at FK Rapax. In 1958 he moved to Borås, where he founded his own company. Here he remained until his death and was buried in the city in the province of Västergötland.
