Overprint

Underprint is understood in philately printing a postage stamp with text or value information.

A watermark can be various reasons. The most common are:

• Change the value level
• Change in the monetary unit
• Variations in the use (eg a stamp is printed with " badge " and so on such a transformed )
• Change the country name (eg "Deutsches Reich" in " Austria " )

Prints are usually in black color. However, there are also prints in other colors. Since they are often made in a hurry, it often comes to varieties ( cf. overprint error ).

Overprints also occur in bills.
