A foreign person is a Filipino Philippine origin who lives and works abroad. Due to the U.S. occupation many Filipinos have good English skills that make them attractive for the global market.

As a result, states are home to numerous Filipino communities.

Diaspora

Worldwide, more than 10 million Filipinos living abroad, about 11 percent of the total population of the Philippines. However, the number can be increased to the well 12 million due to a large number of illegal Filipinos.
