Owaka River

The Owaka River is a small river in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. It rises about 3 km south of Purekireki, flows through the settlement Owaka Valley and flows north at the largest town on the Catlins, Owaka over. It flows about 25 km southwest of the source to the west of the Catlins River Pounawea in, just before its mouth into the sea.

The Clinton Owaka Road follows the valley of the river and connects with Purekireki Owaka, then moving on to lead State Highway 93.
