Owen Paul

Owen Paul ( born May 1, 1962 in Glasgow as Owen McGee ) is a British singer.

Biography

In 1986, he released the single My Favourite Waste of Time, with which he first rose to # 3 on the UK Singles Chart in May of the same year and was able to place three months delay in Germany and Switzerland in the charts.

The single was his only success, as commemorated his album titled About Time in 2002 could not change, since it was largely ignored.

Paul Owen is the younger brother of Simple Minds founding member Brian McGee. Since late 2011 he appears, together with his brother on drums and longtime Simple Minds bassist Derek Forbes, as the ex- singer of Simple Minds. The band is rounded out by guitarist Anthony William and keyboardist Andy Gall. The repertoire spans the early years of Simple Minds (until 1985 ), as well as occasional propaganda songs.
