Owiesno

Owiesno ( German: Do village) is a village located in powiat Dzierżoniowski in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. It is located nine kilometers southeast of Dzierżoniów (until 1945: Reichenbach in the Owl Mountains, 1945-1946: Rychbach ) to the rural community it belongs to.

History

The village was established in the 13th century to newly developed areas land for settlement in Swiss francs Steiner area. For 1260 it is occupied by the Slavic name Ovesonovo and 1292 called Haverdorph. It belonged to the Duchy of Świdnica and Jawor and was in possession of the old Silesian noble family of Pogarell, which broke up into several lines. From the family line have the same father of the Breslau Bishop Preczlaw of Pogarell came.

1579 was the ownership of the family of buck from Güttmannsdorf who had a part of Habendorf before 1541. The next owners were the lords of Nimptsch and after them the Lords of the Heyde. Through marriage Habendorf came in 1797 to the noble Seydlitz on Pawlowitzke, in whose possession it remained until 1945. As a result of the Second World War fell Habendorf - like almost all of Silesia - 1945 to Poland and was renamed Owiesno.

Attractions

  • The Catholic branch church of the Holy Trinity ( Kościół Św. Trójcy ) was built in 1581-1583 as a church hall and rebuilt in the 18th century. The main altar with the painting of the Holy Trinity is from 1730 to the founder Friedrich von Bock († 1592) and his two wives. († 1575, † 1617) remind epitaphs of stone.
  • Instead of an abandoned castle of the Knights Templar or the Knights of the family Pogarell beginning of the 14th century built a new castle which was rebuilt and enlarged in the 17th century to a Baroque palace. The castle was surrounded by a moat over which until 1879 held a drawbridge and was completely renovated in 1879-1885. It was left to decay after 1945. Ruin residues are still present.
