Owschlag

Owschlag (Danish: Okslev ) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein. Norby, Boklund, Ramsdorf ( Ramstorp ) Sorgwohld ( Sorgvold ) and Steinsieken ( Stensig ) are located in the municipal area.

Geography and transport

Owschlag is located about 8 km north of Rendsburg and 13 km south of Schleswig on the edge of the Hüttener mountains. To the east runs the Federal Highway 7 from Hamburg to Flensburg, west of State Road 77 from Rendsburg Schleswig. The railway line that connects the two cities, the town has a railway station. Until 1954 there was a railway line Eckernförder orbits of Owschlag to Eckernförde.

In the municipality of the same name lies Owschlager lake.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1500 as to Osslachte. He belonged to the circle Eckernförde until it was dissolved.
