Oxazole is a derivative of furan and pyrrole nitrogen-containing heterocycle. Its isomer is the isoxazole (1,2- oxazole ), where the oxygen atom is adjacent to the nitrogen.
Production and representation
Similarly, the furan formation of 1,4- diketones oxazole can be obtained by reaction of the acylated amino ketones with phosphorus ( V) chloride or thionyl chloride.
Properties
Physical Properties
Oxazole has a low boiling point, and even at room temperature has a high vapor pressure. It is flammable and highly flammable due to the high vapor pressure.
Chemical Properties
Oxazole is one of the π - electron-rich heteroaromatics. Oxazole and its derivatives such as 2,4 - or 2,4- diphenyloxazole Dimethyloxazol are weak, smelling like pyridine bases which crystallize well and form picrates with platinum chloride double salts.
Use
Oxazole and its derivatives are used both as building blocks for biochemical and pharmaceutical products, as well as pesticides, paints, textiles and plastics additives.
