Oxford Research Group

The Oxford Research Group ( ORG) is a company incorporated in 1982 in Oxford independent non-governmental organization based in London that promotes a more sustainable concept of security in the UK and the rest of the world. In 2003, the founding director of Scilla Elworthy Niwano Peace Prize for the work of the ORG. In April 2005, The Independent Tageseitung the ORG designated as one of the top 20 think tanks in the UK.

ORG operates three programs:

  • Human Security in the Middle East (Human Security in the Middle East )
  • Sustainable Security (sustainable safety)
  • Recording the Casualties of Armed Conflict ( counting the casualties of armed conflict )

The organization sees itself as a " bridge builder" and tries to build trust between policy makers, academics, the military and the civil society. With the support of internationally recognized consultant and with the involvement of opinion leaders and governments a combination of innovative publications, expert roundtables and consultations will be used to develop sustainable global security strategies and promote. The global priority is to be conducted away from the military towards a concept of security based on justice, human rights, conflict prevention and an equitable distribution of resources.
