Oxide dispersion-strengthened alloy

Oxide Dispersion Strengthened is the common name for oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS ) superalloys. These materials can not be produced by melting, and therefore they are produced by mechanical alloying in general. This material can be, for example, used for the temperature-wise most highly loaded blades of the gas turbine.

The ODS materials are made to be installed atomically finely essentially of a Metallic base material in which highly stable oxides such as yttria. Wherein the material has, even at very high temperatures, not to diffuse the ability or may be also prevents grain boundary to allow travel to thermodynamically lower energy states. Special cases to the einkristallienen ODS alloys.
