Australia and live 8

After it was announced that Bob Geldof with Live 8 planned a Neufauflage or continuation of Live Aid, tried the Australian music producer Ian Molly Meldrum, who had led in 1985 heavily worked with Bob Geldof at Live Aid and Oz for Africa, in the wake of the global Live 8 concerts to take place, a Live 8 concert in Australia. Quote: "I hope he ( Geldof ) will do it, we definitely have the musician " ("I'm hoping he'll do it, we've got Certainly the acts. ").

After his efforts to an Australian variant of Live8 were fruitless, Molly Meldrum hosted jointly with former Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes on Australian television a so-called pre-show at Live 8
