Ozegahara

Ozegahara (Japanese尾瀬ヶ原) is located approximately 2000m altitude moorland in Nikko National Park, Japan, and the largest mountain peat bog on Honshu. Administratively, it is located on the territory of the prefectures of Gunma, Niigata, Fukushima.

In addition to the moor, there are also ponds in the area, known for its crystal clear water.

The area is about 8 km ² and a popular hiking destination. It is known for several rare plant species, such as white glow Kalla ( mizu - Bash ) in spring, Hemerocallis esculenta var dumortieri ( Nikko - Kisuge ) and bog - cotton grass ( Watasuge ).
