OzJet

OzJet Airlines was a scheduled and charter airline at the airport is home to the Australian city of Melbourne Tullamarine. The company was founded in 2005 was acquired in 2009 by Strategic Airlines and largely integrated into it. With the bankruptcy of Strategic in February 2012 ended the existence of OzJet.

History

The airline was founded by Paul Stoddart and partners as a scheduled airline for the Australian space and took the end of 2005 to work with the line Sydney - Melbourne. However, the Company did not achieve the required capacity and therefore had provisionally set the line operation in March 2006.

In May 2006 OzJet took over the line connecting the Air Nauru between Brisbane and Sydney and Norfolk Island. Since operational OzJet a Boeing 737-200 in the colors of Norfolk Air also operated the airline the line Perth - Derby and led by charter flights.

In Europe, the name OzJet was known primarily through the sponsorship of Stoddart's Minardi Formula 1 team. Since 2007, the airline was also a sponsor of the Minardi Team USA in the American ChampCar racing series.

2008 OzJet was sold to Heavy Lift Cargo Airlines. In 2009 OzJet was acquired by Strategic Airlines and integrated in it. Until 2011, there were flights conducted under OzJet codes. On 17 February 2012 Strategic Airlines, which operated since November 2011 in the main, under the name Air Australia as a cheap line flyer was put into receivership.
