Özlem Tekin

Özlem Tekin ( born November 18, 1971 in California ) is an artist of Turkish rock music.

Youth

Özlems father Talat Tekin was a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. After Özlems birth, the family returned to Ankara. In elementary school, Özlem was taught in French Tevfik Fikret Lisesi on the. During this time she got piano lessons. Later she enrolled in the National Conservatory of Hacettepe University Ankara and studied the musical instrument clarinet. During her studies, Özlem joined on various stages on in Ankara. During her lecture-free time in the summer, she performed in Bodrum and interpreted various genres, such as English-language pop, rock, heavy metal, punk and jazz. 1992 ended Özlem their studies.

Due to a range of music group Lokomotif moved to Özlem after İstanbul. A short time later, she separated from Lokomotif and joined the co-founded by Şebnem Ferah girl rock band Volvox, where she remained for two years and participated as a singer and keyboard player. During this time learned Özlem acoustic guitar playing and composing her own songs on this.

Career

Published in 1996, Özlem their first album Kime Ne and earned good reviews. Through socially critical songs, such as the forced marriage thematisierende Duvaksız Gelin ( The Bride Without fog) or of street children acting Herkes Şanslı Doğmuyor ( Not Everyone Is Born With a little luck ), they became popular in Turkey. After her 1998 was erschienes second album with a harder rock less successful, was released in 1999 her third album laubali as softer rock and pop album.

After this time it was quiet around Özlem Tekin. It lasted for a longer time in the U.S., where she took a course in sculpture among others. To have written the words of all the songs within a week, Özlem 2002 released her fourth album Tek Basima (All Alone ). After this album, they tried to distance the music to attract and announced that she would not utter another album and spend more of their lives abroad. However, in 2005 they released their heaviest album to date 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, and with the change in their style of music seems their crisis for the time being terminated.

In October 2006, the film hokkabaz launched in theaters. Here she shines as a "mysterious bride " on the side of Cem Yilmaz, who plays the lead role and Mazhar Alanson ( one of the singers of MFÖ ), who plays Yilmaz crazy father.

Since 2008, she is seen as a presenter of TV show " hiperaktif " on the station Kral TV.

In the published in January 2008 album Sonsuz the group bathrobes Özlem Tekin sings in duet the song Kalpsiz. In 2009 she sang the duet with Misa Dost Kalamam.

2010, her album Bana Bi'şey olmaz.

In the 2012 released album Acoustic 2012 by Ogun Özlem Tekin Şanlısoy sings the duet Dayanamam.

Others

On 8 August 2008 she married Cem Ocal, the background singers of Kenan Doğulu.
