Ozurgeti Municipality

The municipality Osurgeti (Georgian ოზურგეთის მუნიციპალიტეტი ) is a municipality ( county ) in Georgia, in the region of Guria. The administrative center of the municipality is the city Osurgeti Osurgeti. The area covers 675 km ². The municipality has 84 126 inhabitants ( 2010).

To the north is the municipality Lantschchuti, bounded on the north-east of the municipality Tschochatauri and the south by the municipalities of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Kobuleti and Schuachewi. In addition, the municipality Osurgeti has a coastline on the Black Sea. The area of the municipality is located in the valleys of the rivers Supssa and Natanebi, which are the largest rivers in the municipality. The area is rich in mineral resources.

In the municipality Osurgeti are 74 settlements; including 1 city ( Osurgeti ), 4 towns and 69 villages. The population is Georgian; it lives here also a small number of Russians and Armenians.
