P-Square

P- Square ( German: P- square or P2) is a Nigerian R & B and Afro - hip-hop duo that consists of the Lagos -born twins Peter and Paul Okoye. The twins come from Ifite Dunu in Anambra State and belong to the Igbo tribe.

Development

The story of P- Square began in St. Murumba College, a small Catholic school in Jos, Nigeria. The twins Peter and Paul Okoye joined the music and theater group at school and began to sing, to dance and imitate songs by MC Hammer, Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson. Later they founded under the name MMMPP (M Clef aka Itemoh, Michael, Melvin, Peter and Paul ) an A capella quartet. Inspiration they got from her idol Michael Jackson. They learned to breakdance, and founded in 1997 the school band Smooth Criminals. Your artistic legacy talent and precise dance she quickly made it known in Jos, where they performed more frequently.

1999 returned Peter and Paul Okoye back to music school to improve their skills on keyboard, drums, bass and rhythm guitar. Here, some movie soundtracks like Tobi, Mama Sunday, Moment of Bitterness and Evas River originated. In the same year they started at the University of Abuja to study Business Administration.

The Smooth Criminals disbanded when her members are enrolled at various universities. As a result, the Okoye twins formed their own group and Da Pees occurred under the changing names Double P, P & P until they finally fixed lay down on P- Square. They were managed by Bayo Odusami aka Howie T, a concert promoter.

2001 P- Square won the " grave Da Mic " competition, and Benson & Hedges sponsored their debut album Last Nite. 2005 brought P- Square released their second album Get Squared in their own label Square Records out. In 2007, she released her third album, Game Over, which sold eight million copies worldwide. Published in 2009 P- Square their fourth album Danger on which they collaborate with 2Face Idibia, J Martins and Frenzy.

In 2010 she won the with a million dollars doped Kora Award.

Production and sampling controversy

P- Square predominantly produced in-house. They resample multiple western songs and hits. However, the samples are not simple excerpts from songs that are inserted directly into your own songs, but reconstructed drum patterns, chord progressions or lyrics of the sampled songs.
