P. Ole Fanger

Povl Ole Fanger (* July 16, 1934, † 20 September 2006) was a Danish engineer.

Fanger was only a professor at Syracuse University and later at the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy working at Technical University of Denmark. He dealt with health issues within the interior region, with thermal comfort and the quality of indoor air. Fanger was able to prove to that poor indoor air cause asthma in children and strongly negatively affect productivity in the workplace.

He led the Olf a, a measure of the strength of an odor source. Derived from that he introduced the unit Dezipol which describes the perceived odor at an aeration of 10 l / s.

Ole Fanger was married and had two daughters.
