P. Shanmugam

P. Shanmugam (. Tamil: பி சண்முகம்; born March 25, 1927 in Nedungadu, Karaikal district, † February 2nd 2013 in Karaikal ) was an Indian politician ( Congress Party ); 2000 to 2001 he was chief minister ( head of government) of the Union Territory of Puducherry ( Pondicherry).

In 2008, P. Shanmugam moved for health reasons from politics. P. Shanmugam died on February 2, 2013 at the age of 85 years in Karaikal from the effects of a head injury he had suffered in the morning in a fall in his bathroom.
