P38 mitogen-activated protein kinases

P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase ( p38 MAPK) are a class of proteins, and are like the JNK family of mitogen protein kinases ( MAPK). You are in signaling cascades (see detail under MAP kinase pathway ) involved, their triggers are external stimuli such as cytokines, heat shock, radiation and osmotic shock. You have also important for cell differentiation, cell growth and apoptosis.

From the p38 paralogous isoforms in humans are four known p38 - α ( MAPK14 ), - β ( MAPK11 ), - γ ( MAPK12 or ERK6 ) and δ ( MAPK13 or SAPK4 ).
