Pablo Morillo

Pablo Morillo y Morillo, Count of Cartagena and Duke of La Puerta, ( born May 5, 1775 in Fuentesecas, Zamora, Spain, † July 27, 1837 in Barèges, France ) was a Spanish general. He fought in the Wars of Independence on the side of the Spanish Empire.

As of August 22, 1815 besieged the city of Cartagena Morillo, who was surrounded by walls and on 6 December his troops marched into the city. Then Morillo returned to Venezuela in order to continue the fight against the freedom fighters. In June 1820, he ordered that all men must recognize the Cadiz Constitution. He sent envoys to Bolívar. Morillo and Bolivar met in Santa Ana and signed a peace agreement for six months and then another, which Kriegsregularisation was called.
