Pacatianus

Tiberius Claudius Marinus Pacatianus († 249 in the Roman province of Moesia [ Moesia ] ) was 248-249 Roman Gegenkaiser.

Life

Pacatianus was one of several Roman soldiers who claimed towards the end of the reign of Emperor Philip the Arab, the Office of the Roman emperor for themselves. His elevation falls in the period between April 21 and April 20, 248 249; probably took his government in the territory it controls by summer 248 to summer 249

Philip sent the future emperor Decius, in order to negotiate with Pacatianus, but before the General arrived at Pacatianus sent, he had already been murdered by his own troops in Moesia.

From the reign of Pacatianus few coins have been preserved. His coins can achieve very high prices at auction today.
