The Yellow Vierfleck Bock ( Pachyta quadrimaculata ) is a beetle of the family of longhorn beetles ( Cerambycidae ).

Features

The beetles are 11 to 20 millimeters in length, with females have a gedrungeneren physique than males. The animals have a black body and yellow elytra each with two sharp-edged, large black spots. This can be sometimes fused together, also there are individuals who carry only one spot per wing covers. It also happens that the front spot is formed elongated. The head and pronotum are long, spreading hairs yellow, the pronotum is also heavily wrinkled lines. The elytra are punctured, front coarser than the abdomen towards the end. Occurrence and life

The beetles come in Europe and Asia, to the north by Denmark and Central Finland. You are missing in the British Isles and the Netherlands. They are found in the mountain and hill country, they are not there rare. The adults can be seen until August, especially along forest paths, but also to umbel flowers in June. The larvae develop in softwood and prefer spruce and pine.
