Packet Loss Concealment

As Packet Loss Concealment ( to German: masking of data packet loss ) methods are called, bridge the losses of entire data packets in a digital data stream. It is used in the digital transmission of voice (for example, the IP - telephony). Simple method to replace the lost data with silence. More sophisticated methods keep the last transmitted sound or try to interpolate the sound. In general, dropouts can be bridged with a length of up to 30 ms without this perceived by the receiver.
