Paco (volcano)

The Paco volcano lies in the northeast of the Philippine island of Mindanao in the province of Surigao del Norte between the Lake Mainit and Surigao City. He is the local population also known under the name Manlayao. He is a 524 meter high stratovolcano. His profile is characterized by its truncated and nested calderas. They have a diameter of 2.5 and 5 km, in the interior of lava domes rise from Andesitgestein. The age of the youngest rock is given as 90,000 years ± 40,000 years.

Legends of the population in the region reported an eruption, the caldera formed. Written records of an eruption does not exist; also lacks a temporal determination of the time of the last eruption of Pacos. However, the volcano shows fumarolic activity.
