Pacy-sur-Eure

Pacy -sur -Eure is a commune with 4581 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Eure in the Haute-Normandie region. It lies on the banks of the river Eure and belongs to the district Évreux. It is the administrative center of the canton of Pacy -sur -Eure.

Culture and sights

Pacy -sur -Eure is with three flowers representing national des villes et villages fleuris ( National Council of flowery towns and villages ) in the Conseil. The " flowers " are awarded as part of a regional competition, a maximum of three flowers can be achieved.

Until the mid-20th century stood in the church of Saint- Aubin, a statue of St. Aubin of Angers, which was regarded as miraculous. In the 19th century, St. Helier in Pacy -sur -Eure was so popular that the priest removed his statue from the church because they were of the opinion that worship would go beyond the usual religious dimension beyond. Since then, he lost there in importance.

Economy

The municipal area protected geographical indication ( PGI ) for Pork ( Porc de Normandie), poultry ( Volailles de Normandie and Volailles de Houdan ) and apply cider ( Cidre de Normandie and cider normand ).
