Padosan (Hindi: पड़ोसन, Urdu: پڑوسن ) is an Indian comedy film directed by Jyoti Swaroop from 1968 It is a film adaptation of the story of Arun Choudhury Bari Pasher. .

Action

A simple man named Bhola fell in love with the neighbor's daughter Bindu. To impress her he wants to sing her something. Problem: Bhola can not sing and asks his friend Vidyapathi, a famous singer to help him. While Bhola now moves his mouth, Vidyapathi sings hidden in the background. Bindu is charmed and falls in love Bhola.

Bindus music teacher Master Pillai is also secretly in love with his pupil, and even holds her hand to. But Bindu loves Bhola and rejects his request.

One day Bindu finds of Bhola's lie and separates disappointed in him. Out of anger she now wants to marry Master Pillai. While both stuck in the middle of wedding preparations, forges Bhola Bindu plans to reclaim.

On the wedding day Vidyapathi has an idea. He pretends that Bhola has committed suicide and puts added a farewell letter. Then he tells Bindu of the incident and can convince them. She immediately runs to Bhola and reads the letter. She regretted it ever having to leave and wants to shake him awake. Bhola wakes up and the two can marry Master Pillai's consent.

The lyrics to the music of Rahul Dev Burman Rajendra Krishan wrote, who also wrote the screenplay and dialogues of the film.

Background

The original Bengali story was previously filmed several times: in 1952 by Sudhir Mukherjee under the original title, 1953 by C. Pullaiah as Pakkinti Ammayi and 1960 by V. Raghavaiah under the title Adutha Veetu Penn.
