Pae (Tallinn)

Pae ( German for " limestone [ area] " ) is a district (Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn. It is located in Lasnamäe district ( German " Laaksberg ").

Description

The municipality has 14,058 inhabitants (as of 1 May 2010).

Pae was referred to the Soviet era, in the language of administration as Lasnamäe I mikrorajoon. The district is dominated - as the entire district Lasnamäe - prefabricated high-rise buildings in the Soviet style, which arose in the 1970s and 1980s on the limestone plateau.

Pae is located on the 10 km long Laagna tee ( to the Soviet period, " October Prospectus"), a multi-lane, six to seven meters into the limestone carved expressway that Lasnamäe with the city center of Tallinn connects. It is also called "channel". Actually the construction of a tram route was planned for the median strip, which was never realized.
