Paenula
The Paenula is a v. since the 4th century AD Roman occupied stall coat that a modern-day poncho is similar in shape. The basic shape was oval, which in the middle had a head slot and a hood.
Probably Etruscan- Near Eastern origin, Paenula was initially driven primarily as a cladding of lower classes. Around the turn of time you used it also in the top layer as a jacket for women and men.
