Paese

Paese is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 21,411 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Treviso in Veneto. The community is located about eight kilometers west of Treviso on the railway line from Treviso to Vicenza. About four kilometers southwest of Paese is the Treviso- Sant'Angelo (gen. Canova, partly given as Aeroporto San Giuseppe ).

History

The settlement is a spin-off or the former colony of Aquileia at the Postumia. The name is said to come from the Latin pagus ( " corridor " or " Gau ").

With the annexation by the Republic of Venice Treviso Paese also came under the rule of the local area.
