Page header

The header is detached from the main text at the top ( head ) of text pages and allows quick orientation and navigation within a written work. For example, the header text name the author and title of the work, the paragraph number and name of the opened chapter or page numbering and the title of the open section in the short form. In hypermedia Sites are often navigational links at this point.

At the same orientation or navigation purposes, a header can serve a footer, but this is at the bottom ( foot ) of text pages. Whether a text with header, footer with, or both is provided, and what purpose information is distributed among these, choose author or publisher. Particularly in the IT sector and the English names are used header or page- header.
