Paifang
The Scheintor Pailou (牌楼) is an element of Chinese architecture.
The word comes from two Chinese words pai (牌= " inscription plate " ) and Lou (楼= " multi-storey building ").
Pailous were built in China made of wood or stone, provided with curved roofs and had several arches. As a consolation goal they were comparable to the European triumphal arch in the function.
