Geography

Painten lies in the region of Kelheim.

To market Painten includes the following villages and hamlets: Mountain, Maierhofen, Mantlach, Netzstall, Neulohe and Rothenbügl.

History

Painten belonged until 1305 to the county Hirschberg, then the Duchy of Bavaria, in 1505 the newly formed Duchy of Neuburg and its Pflegamt Hemau. Since 1799 the area was united with the Electorate of Bavaria. Painten had a market court with extensive own rights. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the Bavarian village of 1818 the municipality Painten.

Incorporations

In 1946 a part of the dissolved municipality Rothenbügl was incorporated. As part of local government reform in the community Neulohe 1978 parts of the community blades (Berg, Mantlach and Netzstall ) came on 1 January 1972 ( with Maierhofen ) as well as in time. On January 1, 2013, the unincorporated area Paintner was completely integrated forestry.

Population Development

On the territory of the municipality in 1970, a total of 1767, 1987, 1878, 2000 2182, finally counted 2195 inhabitants in 2011, 2184 and in 2012.

Policy

Mayor Willi Dürr (SPD). The only political youth organization in Painten is the Junge Union Painten.

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 1,479,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 709,000.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 344 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 59 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 835 in the manufacturing sector, there were none, in the construction of six companies. In addition, in 1999, there were 39 farms with an agricultural area of 590 ha, of which 506 ha of arable land.

  • Kindergartens: 2 kindergartens with 100 kindergarten places with 66 children
  • Elementary schools: 1 with 10 teachers and 188 students
