The Pakistan Football Federation (in short: PFF ) is the Pakistan Football Federation. The seat of the PFF is located in the FIFA Football House in Lahore, Punjab, near the Punjab Stadium.

Overview

The PFF manages all football clubs in Pakistan. She is both a member of the Asian Football Confederation AFC, and FIFA. Membership of the PFF is mandatory for all football teams in Pakistan. The PFF is also responsible for managing the national men and for the women's national team and for the organization of the Pakistan Premier League, the top domestic league championship and other deeper leagues. At local level, the sport of eight provincial federations is managed, are subject to the PFF. From 1950-1971 there was also a West Pakistan Federation.

History

The Pakistan Football Federation was founded on December 5, 1947, after independence from Britain. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the president of Pakistan, became chairman after the PFF was admitted to FIFA in 1948. She organized the first national championship in 1948 in Karachi. The PFF was also a founder member of the 1954 Asian Football Confederation.

Football was very unpopular for several reasons in Pakistan: corrupt and incompetent management, lack of support from the authorities towards the players and the sport itself, too little media attention, not least cricket as a favorite sport in Pakistan did not have the football on the status of a minority sport across. Also, due to problems in the policies of the Association was temporarily suspended by FIFA for all competitions. This was true for both the national as well as for the clubs. These reasons prevented the football in the last two decades of any further development.

Development from 2000

In August 2003, a new management was introduced. The President of the PFF Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh was now Hayat, which should completely transform the Pakistani football. With the support of FIFA presented the PFF 2004, a completely new national league, which was now called the Pakistan Premier League. Came in 2005 a national competition for the women.

2007, the Geo Super Football League was founded. This ensured that club football was on television for the first time on GEO Super. This league was also the first professional football league in Pakistan.

Pakistan improved the results in both the club and international football. The rise of Pakistan ensured that many players move abroad, such as Zeshan Rehman. However, critics complain that more effort and sincerity is required on the part of officials to promote the development of football. Because of bureaucratic inefficiency and less committed politicians, the football does not develop further or grow in any greater extent.

Professional league

Pakistan's nationwide league system has three leagues. The top tier is called Pakistan Premier League, the second highest Pakistan Football Federation League and the third league National Club Championship. Under these leagues are regional leagues. There is also a national cup, the National Football Challenge Cup, which is sometimes busy but rather sparse.
