Paksat 1R

PAKSAT 1R is a communication satellite in the Pakistani aviation and space research organization SUPARCO ( Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission).

He was taken on August 11, 2011 at 16:15:00 UTC by a Long March 3B of the ramp LA -2 of the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province in geostationary orbit.

The three -axis stabilized satellite is equipped with 18 Ku-band and 12 C-band transponders and will provide the position of 38 degrees East, South and Central Asia, East Africa, Eastern Europe and the Far East with a variety of communication services. It will replace PAKSAT 1 ( formerly known as Palapa C1), ends its expected life in space in 2011. It was built based on the Chinese DFH -4 satellite bus, and has a design life of 15 years. The agreement on the construction of the satellite between China and Pakistan was signed on 18 September 2009 at Islamabad Pakistan. In this a loan equivalent to about 200 million U.S. dollars is included to Pakistan for use in the construction of the satellite PAKSAT 1R. The satellite was built in close cooperation of the Chinese Great Wall Industry Corporation ( CGWIC ) and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmospheric Research Commission ( SUPARCO ).

11 September 2011 PAKSAT 1R reached his first position at 37.8 degrees East, where it is subjected to tests before it is passed to SUPARCO.
