Pakwach

Location of Pakwach within Uganda

Pakwach is a town in north-western Uganda Nebbi district in the west of the Murchison Falls National Park with 17,625 inhabitants. Situated at the Albert Nile.

In Pakwach is the only bridge over the Albert Nile, on the Gulu - Arua - highway crosses the river in Pakwach. The next bridge downstream is the 445 road kilometers to Juba Bridge in South Sudan. Towards Kampala the next bridge 110 km from Victoria Nile Bridge is below the Karuma Falls on the Victoria Nile.

She was for a time the terminus of the line Tororo - Arua mine, a branch line of the Uganda Railway, which is now used only to Opit and exclusively for freight.
