Palacio Quemado

The Palacio de Gobierno ( colloquially Palacio Quemado ) is the seat of the Bolivian government. It is located in Plaza Pedro Domingo Murillo in downtown La Paz His nickname Palacio Quemado arose from the fact that he was burned in a mutiny in 1860.

The Palacio Quemado is next to the Cathedral of Our Lady of La Paz and the Legislative Palace, in which the National Congress meets.
