HC Bolzano

Named after its roof design multi-purpose hall Eiswelle (it. Palaonda ) is a sports center in Bolzano and was built in 1994 for, among other things, the Ice Hockey World Championship in Italy in 1994. It is located in the industrial zone of Bolzano, near the exhibition center and the station of Bolzano -South of the railway line Bolzano-Merano. It was built on the site of the fair, and was led until recently by the Fair Corporation. 2010 was the lead of the city of Bolzano, who had borne one-third of the construction costs.

The wave of ice is used for hockey games, ice shows, sporting events, as a concert congress, exhibition and other event hall. The 7,000 seats are distributed on fixed and movable stands.

The hall is used for training and playing purposes mainly from the city -based ice hockey club HC Bolzano. In November 2009, the Group D of IIHF Continental Cup was held in 2009/10 in the wave of ice, where the hosts HC Bolzano nor the Sheffield Steelers, the HYS The Hague and the HDK Maribor Stavbar participated. The year before the wave of ice has already hosted the group E of the IIHF Continental Cup 2008 /09. In addition to the male hockey team there also train the Eagles HC Bolzano, which denies the Italian Serie A Women. The home games of Ritten Sport in the final best-of -seven Italian Hockey Championship Series A1 were held in April 2010 in the wave of ice.

In the wave of ice takes place regularly the South Tyrolean Ice Gala, where among other things occurred Carolina Kostner, Todd Eldredge and Don Jackson.

European Handball Championship

In the Eiswelle half of the games and the finals of the European Handball Championships 1998 were held.
