Palazzo Koch

The Palazzo Koch is a palace in the Rione Monti in downtown Rome. The building is named after the architect Gaetano Koch. The Italian Central Bank ( Banca d' Italia ) has its headquarters here.

History

Situated on the Via Nazionale Palazzo Koch was built 1888-1892 in neo-renaissance style. First, there 's Directorate-General, the printing and the Roman branch of the Banca d' Italia were housed, and later still, a library and a museum added. Over time, central departments and the Rome branch spun off and housed in other buildings in the immediate and wider environment. 2009 tours were offered by the Palazzo for the first time.
