Palinode

A palinode ( from Greek palinodia = withdrawal ) is a poetic method developed in antiquity, in which the content of messages sent by the already present another poem in strict keeping its formal features are turned upside down.

Famous was the palinode of Stesichorus, who had been punished according to legend, offensive because of the Helena poem with blindness, but received back by his decision to withdraw his eyesight in antiquity.
