Palitzsch (crater)

Palitzsch is an impact crater in the east of the Moon front, which lies directly on the southeastern edge of the great crater Petavius . The crater is heavily eroded and uneven inside.
To the north of the crater begins the Moon Valley Vallis Palitzsch which runs in a northerly direction along the wall of Petavius to secondary craters Petavius D.
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the German astronomer Johann Georg Palitzsch.
