Palmas (music)

Palmas referred flamenco rhythmic clapping. A distinction is made between the louder and brighter sounding tone ( Palmas Fuertes, also Palmas mormons or Palmas agudas ), when you hit with the fingers of one hand into the palm of the other hand and the dull and cautious -sounding tone ( Palmas Sordas ), the you can generate by beating the two palms together.

Several palmeros ( so called musicians of flamenco ensembles that generate the rhythm with the clapping of the hands when playing together ) create by combining different rhythm variations extremely complex sound patterns.
