History

The venue has four stands three of which can be used at this time. In 1921 the club bought the ground for £ 1500 after the club had sold four players at Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa. In 1995, we inaugurated the new main stand (now Dumfries and Galloway Standard booth ) a; which replaced the old Coo Shed stand. The Galloway News stand in the east is partly location of the seats for the away fans. The former grandstand had to be replaced after a fire in 1964. The Portland Drive Terrace is a classic, English standing terrace with roof; how could they find the Hillsborough disaster and the subsequent Taylor Report in almost every British stadium. The uncovered standing rank Terregles End Street is closed due to its poor condition. The attendance record dates from 23 February 1952, when the Scottish FA Cup match of the 3rd round against Heart of Midlothian 26,552 visitors attracted to the stadium.
