Pama (Burkina Faso)

Pama is a small town ( commune urbaine ) and a comprehensive department of the same area in the southeast of the West African country Burkina Faso located in the region Est and capital of the province Kompienga. The subdivided into four sectors, capital and the associated 14 villages ( Bombontangou, Folpodi, Kabonga I Kabonga II, Kalmama - Signoghin, Koalou, Kompiembiga, Kpadiari, Nadiagou, Niorgou I Niorgou II, Oumpougdéni, Tibadi and Tindangou ) have together 36 503 inhabitants. Pama is on the road between Fada N'Gourma and the border with Benin, which is simultaneously a Transhumanzpiste for cattle from the north of Burkina in the direction of the coastal states. To the east lies the nature reserve Réserve partial de Pama, west of Kompiengastausee.

Pama has an airfield with the international identifier XPA.

According to the legend came Diaba Lompo, first king of the Gourmantché, ridden here from the clouds and made Pama the first capital of the kingdom Gulmu.
