Pama Reserve

The Réserve partial de Pama is located in southeastern Burkina Faso. It was founded in 1955 and covers 223,500 ha in the east it borders on other protected areas ( Arli and Singou ), to the south by the Pendjari, which forms the border with Benin Pendjari National Park and to the west it extends to the N18 from Fada N ' Gourmand for Beninese border, which was also the site is Pama.

Flora

In Réserve partial de Pama prevails a typical nordsudanische savannah vegetation, taking the total for the protected area 450 species of flowering plants known, the most species-rich families are grasses and legumes. Among the species occurring here are Afzelia africana and Vitellaria paradoxa with some out on the red list of the IUCN.

Fauna

In large mammals, there are elephants, hippos, lions and leopards, as well as various antelope species including roan antelope, hartebeest, waterbuck, bushbuck, kob and Oribi.
