Pamanzi

Pamanzi ( Ile Pamanzi or Petite Terre ) is the second largest island in the French overseas territory of Mayotte. It is 10.95 km ² and is located east of the main island ( Grande Terre ). On Pamanzi are the former capital of Mayotte, Dzaoudzi, and the international Dzaoudzi Pamandzi airport.

The island is divided into two municipalities:

  • Dzaoudzi in the north with 12,308 inhabitants ( 2002)
  • Pamandzi in the south with 7,510 inhabitants ( 2002)
