Pamir Airways was the first private airline of Afghanistan. They existed between 1995 and 2011.

History

Pamir Airways was founded in May 1995 as the first private Afghan airline and received her pilot's license by the then Ministry of Aviation. Pamir Airways started its operations with a Boeing 707-320 and two Antonov An - 12th It carried its own account in 2004 and about 9,000 in 2005, about 15,000 pilgrims to the Hajj. Since late November 2010 Pamir Airways was on the blacklist of the European Commission and therefore subject to a test flight ban to Europe.

Incidents

17 May 2010 Pamir Airways Flight 112 crashed near the Salang Pass into Afghanistan. Five crew members and 39 passengers were killed.
