Pandan (Catanduanes)

Pandan is a Philippine municipality of the island province of Catanduanes. It has 19,393 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 26 barangays. The community is described as partly urban and belongs to the fourth income class municipalities in the Philippines. Pandan is located about 346 km southeast of the capital of the Philippines Manila and 52 km north of the provincial capital Virac. Pandan is the northernmost community on the island and has a topography of hilly to mountainous described.

The climate of the island of Catanduanes is classified as Type II, with no pronounced dry or wet season, the highest rainfall occurs from October to December. The community is located within the Typhongürtels in the Philippines.

The Cardinal José Sánchez (1920-2012) was born in Pandan.
